GHC's Culinary Arts student, Emma Foroughi is participating in the Careers in Culinary Arts Program (C-CAP) scholarship competition. She's worked hard as a competitor, meeting via Zoom with Chef Sills to practice after classes, and and now awaits the results from C-CAP's judges.
Emma submitted videos and pictures for the competition, stating she thinks the competition went well. "It's so exciting to be competing and to be judged by renowned chefs, but if I'm being honest I'm even more excited to know what Chef Sills thinks of my progress. She's so great and I'm so grateful for everything she's done to help me get here. I couldn't have done any of this without her!"
Last year, C-CAP awarded $2,643,915 in scholarships to 130 students across the country. These incredible high schoolers earned these scholarships by preparing all academic year for their regional C-CAP Cooking Competition for Scholarships each Spring.
Chef Sills said that while it's been a difficult year of online learning, "Emma took the challenge and owned it. I'm very proud of her resilience and determination."
